When our identities surpass our humanity, we have lost the plot. Sometimes it's not the what, but the how. I'm extremely sorry for all of your losses beyond words. And I'm devastated every day by what looks to me like indiscriminate killing of Palestinian civilians. It does not feel reasonable given that I am neither (American citizen living in New Zealand, both european and Indian ancestory). But we are human beings. We are all human beings. If that is not at the front and center of this moment and all moments going forward, we will never know peace and equity. I think there are more people than we often see in quick form videos who can think systemically and feel humanly. I can imagine how seeing and hearing that right now is almost impossible amongst flag waving and slogans. I woke up today after 3 weeks of grief with the sliver of the thought not to lose faith in humanity. -- it's not the loudest thought in my mind, but I"m going to hold onto it and pray that this is possible for more of the world.
